Rating forms are coming through already and we are looking forward to meeting these freshly signed-off pilots at our flying sites across the country. Welcome to all our new members and congrats to everyone who has worked hard to achieve a higher rating as well!
We are officially retiring our toll-free number. Not to worry – you can still email the office to set up a call. Just send in a quick description of your issue and the right person will get back to you. The few calls we receive any more are mostly about renewing online or how to apply for site insurance, so email is the quickest way to solve these issues as we send you the correct links.
Our AGM is coming up at the end of the month. This is an online event where members can review our financial statements which will be available for a week in a members-only area of the website. Please ensure your membership is up to date! More information on the AGM below.

The Board of Directors held their Annual Directors Meeting at the end of February.The Committees presented their reports and the Board discussed the financial statements of the previous year and reviewed the current year’s budget, which the members will vote to approve or not at our AGM.
The dates for our AGM will be from April 30-May 7, 2025. Watch for an emailed notice with a link to the online voting and information to review.
Normally we have a public accountant read over our statements before we present them at the AGM. However, our regular public accountant resigned this spring – see this notice from James Rogers, HPAC/ACVL treasurer regarding this available role:
“Hey Members, HPAC’s public accountant resigned this Spring. We are looking for a person or public accounting firm to engage at the end of each year to perform a Notice to Reader or Review Engagement preparation of HPAC’s financial statements. Anyone interested or have a lead for us, please have them email James Rogers at treasurer@hpac.ca”
Safety

Instructors
Any Senior Instructors holding an Instructor/Recertification course this year, please email admin@hpac.ca to get those dates posted in future newsletters and on our Facebook page. Many instructors contact the office looking to book their recerts and some travel from out of town so are looking to plan ahead.
- XC paragliding in Mission, BC will be hosting an Instructor/Recertification course May 2-4, 2025. Contact Al through his website at this link for more information.
Competitions
After years as our Competition Committee Chair, JP (Robert) Vandenbegine has passed the title on to Joey Villeneuve. We are grateful to JP for his years of supporting the competition scene at HPAC. Joey wrote a thank you letter to JP which you can read at this link.
