Question:

Is there going to be a call for HPAC Website content managers coming in the near future?
For experts in the field in all the various categories we provide for members and visitors?

With the launch of the new HPAC Website coming, what members are really going to want to see is a huge and dramatic improvement in the CONTENT.
That means updating, editing, proofing and deleting where necessary.

Leaving this for after the launch is, IMHO shooting ourselves in the foot.
- and if critical content is not transferred, where will we find the archives to refer to in order to correct deficiencies with minimal time and effort?

We are frantically working on the website and will post a job offer for the position of content editor a.s.a.p.
The offer will go ''in house'' first. We believe that it would be ideal to have someone from within the community play this very dynamic role.

This person will be responsible for managing the blog section, putting together an e-zine on a regualar basis and feeding original content and links to web based content. All of this to make sure that our website remains relevant even for regular visitors by making it the first stop for pilots who want to know what's going on in our sport.

The blue print for the position will be based on the Air editor position but quite a few details still remain to be worked out.

I welcome your suggestions while we work on the job description and offer.

Hi Fred,

the new website is progressing. And as I am writting this, the business manager and I are working on a paper newsletter which all members will receive just as the website goes live. This newsletter will contain a little user's guide to the website and some official HPAC business like announcing that this newsletter will be the last paper newsletter or magazine for the short term. In this newsletter we will also announce that the new website will contain an electronic and downloadable quarterly magazine and that the first issue will be waiting for them on the website along a certain amount of content to which members will beinvited to add write away via a blog section.
This newsletter will also announce a new compensated position at HPAC. A job posting for the position of web editor will detail the responsabilities and the compensation of the position. Our interim web editor will be asked to hang around until the permanent one comes into office to make sure that there is no slack in the content stream.
