A precedence has been set (or more accurately an old Airspace Policy was re-established) wherein a temporary "Class F" CYA was established for the Permberton Canadian National Paragliding Championships: http://www.paraglidenationals.com/

This Temporary CYA application has been kept on file by Transport Canada, which will mean that little more than a phone call / email will be needed to reinstate it for future events or as a NOTAM for active flying days.

To find if a NOTAM is active - ie, it has already been applied for for that day, and there is no need to call already busy Kamloops FIC Flight Specialists, go to:
NAV Canada Active NOTAMs. In the Aerodrome ID Box Enter CYPS, check Local NOTAM, then click "Get the NOTAM

This was negotiated with Grant Youngson Email: youngsg@tc.gc.ca
Civil Aviation Safety Inspector, Aerodromes & Air Navigation
400 - 3600 Lysander Lane, Richmond BC V7B 1C3
Ph: 1-604-666-8333 Office Switchboard 1-604-666-8777

a) Enlarging the size of the existing CYA 116 (H) so that foreign pilots etc that do not have their HAGAR
will not have to deal with controlled airspace issues related to IFR traffic and Victor Airways passing through the Pemberton area.

b) Raising the Ceiling of the CYA to 11,000 Ft Msl.

c) There was a small 2 NM radius area from surface to 3000' ASL encompassing the Pemberton Airport and the GPS Navigation route into it that has been EXCLUDED from the CYA.

The CYA was in effect via a NOTAM for a week before after the meet so tourists could to enjoy their stay in Pemberton.

Area included in the Temporary CYA 116 (H) in place for the event.

502000N 1231000W to 501700N 1222200W then
501500N to 1230000W to 503800N 1231400W To point of Origin to 11,000' MSL
Excluding Perberton AD ATf
"ACFT Transititng VFR RTE Whistler - Lillooet USE CAUTION DUE TO EXT ACT. Daily HJ."

A Special Aviation Event Order was applied for for the Canadian National Paragliding Championships in Pemberton.
See Special Aviation Event Order application process / form at: http://www.hpac.ca/pub/?pid=71

Transport Canada was supplied with the Local Rules and Emergency Procedures manual
along with the list of event officials etc as required in the act.

Since the event met all their requirements and because no spectators are invited * the SAEO was not required and an exemption to the SAEO was issued.
* (The launch has limited parking and the LZ road is to be kept clear of parked vehicles to allow local traffic)
