There is a rumor about HPAC producing calendars, for the landowners who accommodate our flying activities.

I have no problem with promotional activities, how ever I do have a problem with hypocrites. Recently there was a big scoop on providing online AIR magazine, which I thought was great, cutting back on the expenses of printing costs etc. Lower HPAC expenses, means a win win situation for us the members.

I feel that the production and expenses that would be incurred by a complimentary calendar issue, is in its own right, a contradiction of verbal politics, even from those who may have a career with a Hippocratic oath. Maybe a more proactive approach can be sought out, to ensure good standing with these fine folks.

The Paragliding Oath of Person-ship.

I swear by Icarus, Lindburg and the Wright brothers, and I take to witness all the gods, all the goddesses, to keep according to my ability and my judgment of safe flight, the following Oath.

To consider dear to me, as my feathered friends, and instructors, him who taught me this art; to live in common with birds of flight, and, if necessary, to share my goods with him; To look upon his offspring as my own brothers, to teach them this art.

In every launch where I come I will enter only for the good of my fellow pilots, keeping myself far from all intentional tree landings, and all seduction of weather, and especially from the displeasure of flight associated with Reserve parachutes or trees.

All that may come to my knowledge in the exercise of flight or in daily commerce with pilots, which ought to be shared abroad or on launch, I will never keep secret and will reveal to other junior pilots.

If I keep this oath faithfully, may I enjoy my life and practice of flight, respected by all men and woman, and in all times. But if a falter in this oath, may a tree claim me.
