Hereunder is the quote that our insurance chair Gregg Humphries presented to us as the best to us as the best offer for our 2010 insurance policy:
Currently we have but one insurance company that has come back to us with a good quote. The broker did get a response from one other insurer but, their quote was over $6,000 more than Lloyds.
As per the broker's email for Feb. 2, we now have a quote to renew the policy, as it is written, for a premium of $34, 986. This is about $ 500 more than last year but, on a per/member basis, it is less than last year ( our numbers are up from 806 to 879 members.)
I think that we should give the brokers instructions to renew at this rate now. We can then add directors and officers coverage if we want to, after a proper analysis of that. We can also address this student issue amongst ourselves and prepare a proper presentation to them, to try to pick up the exposure that obviously exists, of students practicing on their own.
Over to you.
Do you approve of the 2010 HPAC Insurance Policy as described by our Insurance Chair?
