The Board of Directors has appointed a new Senior Instructor:

Max has been involved in hang gliding and paragliding since the late 1980's and worked as a Paragliding instructor and test pilot for manufacturers in Germany. He also flies single engine aircraft, sailplanes and is a licensed Ultralight Flight Instructor. Max Fanderl has represented Canada four times in the Red Bull XAlps Competition and has been a very active Instructor and Tandem Pilot. Welcome to Max.
FALL AND WINTER A GREAT TIME FOR HAGAR!
The fall and winter are an excellent time to study for that all-important HAGAR examination, the single only item required of hang glider and paraglider pilots by Transport Canada, in order to be able to fly in airspace, a great privilege. It is an exam that should be taken by every pilot, regardless of rating level.
André Nadeau, HPAC's Transport Canada Liaison, has updated the HAGAR Study Guide on this website and has added a mapping section. You can find it at
PID 95. It is easy to follow and is an excellent preparation for the HAGAR exam which can be scheduled at any fixed-wing flight school in your area. Please contact the Office if there are questions about the process.
