Canada's XContest National OnLine Contest (OLC)

Happy March everyone! Let's get the XC Season started!

Canada is now registered with XContest for a National OnLine Contest (OLC)
....and March 1st is the official start! Below are some quick comments on the settings/rules....more info to follow.

XCanada contest is here http://www.xcontest.org/canada/

Some remarks:
1) multipliers are 1 (straight), 1.2 (O&R), 1.4 (Triangles) (like in world xcontest), closing distance for triangles is 5%
2) "Clubs" are listed to chose from when registering. We'll also be working on creating teams of pilots for added fun! ....more info to follow.
3) on the Registration page, please use your HPAC # as the "registration number"
4) it is bilingual!
5) categories....there are currently three PG Classes and only one HG Class...I've offered them to make floater and king-posted classes for the HGs but that will take some time. So please post flights from all wings and hopefully we can sort that out later.
6) until March 15 is it possible to claim older flights (from 1st of January 2012, means older than 14 days) - the main winners will only use flights that originate within Canada - this is to give everyone a level playing field and not 'force' them to travel outside the country. But please do post your foreign flights as well as they will show in an overall category.

The rest is standard XContest rules.

This is an HPAC sponsored event...and thus you need to be an HPAC member...after that, there is no cost to enter and participate!

A motivation of Canada signing up for a National XContest is now regional contest organizers can run a local, time-sensitive event using OLC rules with auto-pilot-self-scoring. Watch for more info coming soon!

Mark
