I see on the HPAC home page, the CASN logo (Canadian Amature Sport Network). I looked on their site and to be recognized by them, our sport(s) need to be recognized by Sport Canada.

I heard we lost our recognition by Sport Canada long ago....am I wrong?

If we are 'appproved' by Sport Canada and CASN, what does this mean? Are we eligible for funding for our 'athletes'?

The National Paragliding Team is heading to the Worlds in January '09, and is looking far and wide for support.

Hi guys,

the Canadian Amateur Sports Network is a cool new commercial iniative that would provide a new cable channel specialized in amateur sports. Their official criteria is that the sports that will be presented be OFFICIAL(recognized) under Sports Canada guidelines. Ours, at first glance, wouldn't be because we don't have 3000 members.

We were told that HG/PG could still be part of the programming on a SPECIAL basis.
Maybe, we could get coverage for our nationals for example.

We'll see, but for now the only cost to us is to have a link to their website on our mainpage.

Wouldn't it be great to have a media outlet like this one?

We'll see where this takes us. I'll keep you posted. For now, that new network isn't even on the air.

Actually, I went to their web site and didn't see HG/PG mentioned anywhere.

I am going to take the gif of the main site as we are promoting them and they aren't doing anything for us.

I tried to get to their site today but it was timing out. I doubt they'll really help us out promotion wise anyways.

Hey Quinn,

For now we don't seem to meet one of their criteria which is to be a sport recognized by Sport Canada.
They didn't mention this in our orginal discussions.

Since we are nowhere close to being recognized, I guess that you can take away the link.

Too bad.......for now.

I am certainly dissapointed with how this original agreement was positioned to us.

I will take your feedback and share it with the contact we have from this organisation who introduced us to the program.

Thanks for the feedback and we will monitor any updates to see if there our any future advantages to have a relationship with CASN.
